Baptism Preparation
Infant Baptism
Since infant Baptism is really a celebration of the faith of the parents, it is the parents who are prepared for the celebration of this Sacrament. When the parents have selected a date to have their child baptized they will participate in an evening of preparation, usually the week before the Baptism.
Children (age 7+)
Children who have reached the age of seven, must go through the same process as adults, the Rite of Christians Initiation of Adults (RCIA). Special sessions are held for children and their parents. Like adults, the children will receive the three Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist) at the Easter Vigil.
Adults
Unbaptized adults are prepared for Baptism through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). They celebrate the three Sacraments of Initiaiton (Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist) at the Easter Vigil.
